The Penny Arcade Expo

Thursday, July 31, 2008

This year will mark my return to Seattle for the annual Penny Arcade Expo, the webcomic's three day show dedicated to all things gaming. Set up five years ago by Jerry Holkins and Mike Krahulic, creators of the celebrated Penny Arcade webcomic, PAX is a convention for gamers, by gamers. For three days we, the lowly consumers are able to talk with game developers face to face about their games, about the industry, see and play the latest games be they PC, console, even tabletop and card games. Add on top of that free nightly concerts, parties, movies and the Omegathon, and it becomes the single greatest gaming event in the world.

I will be making the rounds at PAX this year with at least two very awesome people, my wife included. I'm going to try to get some time with most of the developers (and their games) on the floor, but if there are any you'd like to know about especially and can't make it to the show, shoot me a line at somnambulant.gamer@gmail.com with the developer and/or game you'd like me to check out for you and I'll do my best to make it over to them. Below is the floor plan for the exhibition hall.
