Humble Jumbo Bundle 3 is Here to Delight You

Tuesday, November 11, 2014

Humble Bundle has been my go-to source for many of the games I play. Their wide selection of indie and AAA titles, their updated offerings of books and mobile bundles and their commitment to helping charities like Child's Play and Charity: Water makes the service a really easy choice. The latest bundle offer is their third "Jumbo Bundle" and if their previous iterations are any indication, it's bound to live up to the name.

Currently included is a wide variety of games from lesser known indie games to extravagant AAA titles. The Tesla Effect; A Tex Murphy Adventure is a return to an old series of noir adventure games. Set in the fictional future city of New San Francisco, Tex Murphy is a private detective searching for answers to his seemingly seven years of lost memory. It wouldn't surprise me if many of you have no idea who Tex Murphy is or why his adventures are at all interesting. The original series of games ran from 1989 to 1998 and was one of the first adventure games I played with multiple possible paths and endings. The Tesla Effect is a direct sequel to the cliffhanger ending the 1998 game left players on.

Blackguards is a hex-grid turn-based strategic RPG from German developer / publisher Daedalic Games, publishers of Divinity: Original Sin. The visuals are stunning, the environments lush and well populated with interesting enemies. It's based on the pen and paper RPG The Dark Eye, which plays a bit like Shadowrun and GURPS. Choose a bevy of characters from warriors to wizards and every possible combination of classes in between.

Other notable games in the bundle include racing title GRID 2, RPG Always Sometimes Monsters, multiplayer FPS Insurgency and trucking sim Eurotruck Simulator. Pay a total of $15 or more and they'll throw in Saints Row IV. It's an incredible deal that has me scraping through my couch for a little extra scratch. The bundle will be running for about two weeks with more games being added next Tuesday. Keep an eye on this one, it's well worth the price.
